Data and GDPR

You and Your Child's data on Arbor

We collect data about your child at the beginning of their journey with us at Springfield Junior School.  This data includes their name, address and date of birth.  We also ask you for your contact details so we can keep you up to date about what is happening at school or to contact you in an emergency. All of this data can be seen on your child's Arbor account - in their 'profile page'.

Once a term we will ask you to look at the information we have and ensure that all the details are correct - it is your responsibility to make changes to the data directly (on Arbor) or to advise us via the front office.

Should the family situation change - parental separation, family medical condition - or if there is a complicated situation at home, you may wish to share that with us confidentially. Enabling us to offer appropriate support to your child.

Contact: office@springfieldjuniors.net

You can always pop into the front office or speak to your child's class teacher.

Data Protection and Privacy Guidance

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will apply in the UK from 25th May 2018.  It is a piece of EU-wide legislation which will determine how people’s personal data is processed and kept safe.

It gives stronger rights for individuals regarding their own data, including:

  • How it is used,
  • Accessing their data,
  • Rectifying incorrect information,
  • Erasing data,
  • Restricting or objecting to use of their data.

At Springfield Junior School we have produced a Privacy Notice for pupils, parents and staff. These notices advise the individual:

  • why we collect data
  • what we will use the data for, and
  • what we will not use the data for.

We use the Information and Records Management Society’s toolkit for schools to inform how long we retain any data we collect.  Please click on the link above for more information.

The school, part of the Children's Endeavour Trust agreed a new GDPR Policy document in February 2020.  Please click on the link below to read the policy.
