spring learning

Year 4 have shown great enthusiasm and hard work during the first few weeks back at school!

In writing, we have been using our knowledge and understanding of the digestive system, that we have been learning about in science, to write our explanatory texts. These included some interesting facts and ways to look after your digestive system. Did you know humans can produce up to 1.5 litres of saliva a day?!

Our class book this term is ‘Varjak Paw’ by S. F. Said.  It has definitely been keeping us on our toes with lots of mystery and suspense. Pupils have been really eager to keep reading to find out what the vanishings are!

In Maths, we are using our previous knowledge of multiplication and division to apply this to fractions and decimals this term.

Recently, in DT, we had to use our problem-solving skills to create a design for a tea towel to stop it falling off a hook. It was great to see all the imaginative ideas that pupils came up with and the success of their designs.

Soon, we will be learning about Hinduism in RE and exploring what the word ‘Dharma’ means to Hindus. We will also be recreating the story of Rama and Sita using puppets.
